Permanganate-based chemiluminescence analysis of ferulic acid using flow injection.

چکیده
A simple, sensitive and rapid flow-injection chemiluminescence method has been developed for the determination of ferulic acid based on the chemiluminescence reaction of ferulic acid with potassium permanganate in a nitric acid medium. A strong chemiluminescence signal was observed when ferulic acid was injected into an acidic potassium permanganate solution in a flow-cell. The present method allowed the determination of ferulic acid in the concentration range of 6.0 x 10(-6) to 2.0 x 10(-4) mol l(-1); the detection limit (3sigma) for ferulic acid was 9.6 x 10(-8) mol l(-1). The relative standard deviation was 1.0% for 11 replicate analyses of 2.0 x 10(-4) mol l(-1) ferulic acid. The proposed method was applied to the determination of ferulic acid in real samples with satisfactory results. Moreover, the reaction mechanism of the chemiluminescence system was primarily considered.

Bibliographic Information Chemiluminescence method for the assay of perphenazine in drug formulation using permanganate in sulphuric acid with flow injection technique and a chemometrical optimization
An accurate and selective flow injection anal. chemiluminescence (CL) method for the assay of perphenazine was explored. A 394 ppm K permanganate in 0.289 M H2SO4 soln. was used as the chemiluminogenic reagent. A photomultiplier tube was used as a detector at a total flow rate of 4.94 mL/min. Perphenazine was detd. using a linear calibration plot with the equation mV = 4.488 + 0.1162 C (where C...
متن کاملDetermination of phenylephrine hydrochloride by flow injection analysis with chemiluminescence detection.
A new method is proposed for the determination of phenylephrine hydrochloride by flow injection analysis with direct chemiluminescence detection. The method is based on the oxidation of the drug by potassium permanganate in sulfuric acid medium at 80 degrees C. The calibration graph is linear over the range 0.03-8 ppm phenylephrine hydrochloride, with a relative standard deviation (n = 51, 0.5 ...
متن کاملFlow injection chemiluminescence analysis of some penicillins by their sensitizing effect on the potassium permanganate-glyoxal reaction.
A new chemiluminescence method using flow injection is described for the determination of four penicillins, namely: phenoxymethylpenicillin potassium, amoxicillin, ampicillin, and ampicillin sodium. The method is based on sensitizing effect of these drugs on the chemiluminescence reaction of potassium permanganate in sulfuric acid with glyoxal. The different experimental parameters affecting th...
متن کاملDetermination of ceftriaxone sodium in pharmaceutical formulations by flow injection analysis with acid potassium permanganate chemiluminescence detection.
Based on the chemiluminescence (CL) emission generated from the oxidation of ceftriaxone sodium alkali hydrolysate by potassium permanganate in polyphosphoric acid (PPA), a novel determination method for ceftriaxone sodium was developed by using a flow-injection technique. The calibration curve appears to be linear in the range between 0.05 and 100 microg mL(-1) with a detection limit (3sigma) ...
متن کاملDirect Chemiluminescence Determination of Oxymorphone Using Potassium Permanganate and Polyphosphoric Acid
Abstract A simple and sensitive chemiluminescence (CL) method was developed for direct quantification of oxymorphone, a µ opioid agonist that is approximately 10 times more potent than morphine. In this method potassium permanganate in polyphosphoric acid was used as CL reagent. Using this method, oxymorphone can be determined over the concentration ranges 13.5-337.8 ng mL-1 and 0.34-6.76...
